Paul Briggs’ capitulation inside 30 seconds to Danny Green is a puzzler. The punch that finished him appeared no more than a glancing jab. If the finish was indeed legitimate, Briggs – who hadn’t fought in over three years – should not have been allowed any where near a boxing ring. And if it was not legitimate, those behind the sham should be exposed and punished.

On the same subject, how can the IBO label the match-up a ‘world title fight’ given Briggs’ inactivity? This wasn’t exactly Sugar Ray Leonard coming out of retirement to take on Marvin Hagler was it?

One good thing to come out of the farce, though, was Green’s post-fight interview. If you haven’t seen it yet, seek it out. Comedy gold.
